About this blog

I love food. I was cooking since I was four years old, and ever since evolved into a savvy home-chef. As such, I always grown herbs at any available window space or balcony. Now we finally have a garden which immediately became an extension of the kitchen. Very quickly I became a passionate home-farmer just as much as a home-chef. I love growing our own food. We grow veggies, fruits, herbs, raise chickens for the amazing eggs and If I could I would have livestock too.

I was always lured to farming and had a lot of farming experiences in my time as a young fellow. Yet, I am also a full-time city slicker. Love the big urban space. Love my profession as an Art Director. Somehow I manage to live both worlds here in Brooklyn. During my learning curve with a small lot that doesn’t get a whole lot of sun, I have developed and improved my methods that now-days enable me to grow all sorts of things very tightly, efficiently, throughout the year and all in super-organic bio-intensive sustainable system.

The garden opened me to a whole new level in the kitchen. And thereafter the flood gates opened up. Now days we produce almost everything we eat at our home. This is an evolution in our lives. A pleasureful life.  It’s very satisfying, and gives you a lot of energy. For me, that’s the gym. That and walking/biking.

My increasing interest in homestead farming led me to think more about sustainability issues and contemplate about our industrial food system and how people can benefit from having healthier lives. I am compelled to talk about these issue both micro and macro on this blog along with gardening, farming, cooking and baking.

Enjoy your read.
